The Modern Camera has evolved from a box with a hole to a complex assembly of precision-made mechanical and electronic devices. The basic principles remaining the same, many new features of the camera have been introduced to make it easy to use and control the photographic process.

This module takes you through the various parts of the camera, and shows you why they have come into existence.

For every photographer, it is important that he/she is aware of the capabilities of their equipment. This is all the more true for the Camera, since the new models come packed with so many advanced features and settings that ignorance can really be a hindrance for the photographer.

This model takes you through some of these features and settings, describing in brief their use and advantages.

Shutter Speed, Aperture and Sensitivity are the three basic parameters involved in making a photograph. They control the exposure of the photograph and at the same it also control the look and feel of the photograph.

This module takes you through the basic information about these parameters, and how they can be used properly to get the right kind of result in the photograph.

Light & Colour are undoubtedly the most important aspects of Photography. How to capture these factors faithfully and using them creatively is a constant challenge for all photographers.

This module takes you through the basic properties and qualities of light, and how to correctly expose the photographs under different lighting conditions. We will also see how to compensate the exposure settings for rendering true colour.

Composition and Design elements help us build the image we want to capture to effectively convey a message. Artists have always given top priority to these concepts and ideas, and it is important that the photographer also understands and uses these ideas.

This module takes you through the basic composition concepts and how to exploit design elements like lines, curves, perspectives, colour etc.

Photographers are often faced with a situation where there is very little light to get good exposure in all parts of the photograph. This is where, they need to use artificial light to mimic the natural source of light.

This module teaches you how to handle your portable flash units, and how to simulate the natural light sources as key lights or as a subtle fill light to ensure good details in all parts of the photograph.

Light and its characteristics are always far from ideal and they adversely affect the final image captured by the photographic medium. These problems with light can be alleviated using filters. Sometimes, Filters are also used to enhance certain characteristics of light.

This module will introduce you to the world of filters, and how to use them.

This module is all about mixing it up. You have acquired the basic technical and compositional skills. Now its time to have some fun.

Creativity is all about applying your knowledge and ideas in a unique way. Photographers have constantly tried to find new ways of telling a story through their images. This is what you will explore in this module.
